I passed an area on the coastal path between Portrush and Portstewart that had some interesting flowers growing: Sea Pinks, Bird Vetch, Rugosa Rose.
I picked them on the weekend and made them into inks on the Monday, and painted a series of swatches of each for animation.
The colours dried quite differently:
Sea Pinks: a clear white pink – very light green
Bird Vetch: purple to a green/blue
Rugosa Rose: pink to a purple blue
These colours dried with beautiful gradients and interesting colours and textures. You can see I leave the painted frames spread out along the stairs as they can take a little while to dry.
