
A few days ago, I collected a flower from the Minnowburn. There was only one small bunch at the side of the river in the whole area that I could see. (The following week I saw that they were very populated on the coastal path just coming into Portrush).
Crocosmias, I think.
It has a lovely fiery red/orange colour and produced an orange pigment which had quite an ink like consistency.
You can see below that it dried losing the orange tint and turning a little more brown.
