I collected 5 varieties of flower on a morning walk, two of which had two different colours, making 7 samples in total.
Policeman’s Helmet (white flower)
Policeman’s Helmet (pink flower)
Common Knapweed
Bindweed
Oxeye Daisy (much larger growth from 9th June)
Yarrow (pink flower)
Yarrow (white flower)
When I painted swatches for each of the varieties with two colours (Policeman’s Helmet & Yarrow), I mixed the two afterwards and painted a test swatch to see if there would be any difference in them combined when they dried.
Both Yarrow pigments came out the same colour, therefore their mix was similar.
The Policeman’s Helmet white and pink painted and dried differently, and the mix therefore presented slightly different again with a colour gradient showing.
I decided to retry the previously picked Oxeye Daisy because I had grown a lot since the original forage. Looking back at older photos, this Oxeye Daisy looks more yellow than the previous smaller flower taken in June which show’s as more green/brown.
