Wood Anemone & Daisies

I collected wood anemone and daisies at the Minnow Burn further along the Lagan river. I was keen to try white flowers and other colours instead of the greens, yellows and browns that I’ve collected so far. Spring flowers are starting to appear now with more colours.

I considered using the whole tops of the daisies because they are so small but the white leaves came off easily. They produced a lovely pink that was quite foamy but it eventually dried more grey. The wood anemone turned a lovely grey pink but eventually dried a grey green colour.

I also took dried copper beech leaves that I had previously picked from a garden and blended them slightly to break them down into smaller pieces before crushing them in the mortar. I think it produced a colour similar to the leaves but I forgot to photograph the pigment.
